The Weathersfield Music Festival was founded in the summer of 1991 by Almita and Roland Vamos and Eugenia Monacelli. Every summer, top-level students traveled from all around the world for a summer of vigorous practicing, lessons and masterclasses. However, in addition to this intense summer of study, the WMF had started a tradition of eagerly awaited concerts performed by the festival's founders, students, and special guests. The lasting effects of these summers in Vermont have left students with fond memories and a special place in their hearts for the beautiful New England area.
Today, the Weathersfield Music Festival alumni can be found performing in top-level orchestras, teaching in prestigious conservatories and soloing around the world. This summer, the founders and alumni look forward to continuing this tradition by bringing an exciting concert series back to the South Central Vermont region. Concerts of solo and chamber works will be performed by our internationally renowned guest artists and faculty.
Concerts will take place every Saturday night of the Okemo Young Artists' Festival at the Ludlow Town Hall, 37 Depot Street, Ludlow, VT at 7:30 PM.
